Sugar scrubs are a wonderful gift and a great way to pamper yourself! You can use them to exfoliate & deoderize your hands in the kitchen. I like to use citrus oils for this reason. You can also use a sugar scrub to exfoliate your legs and especially feet. My first sugar scrub was a gift from a friend. She purchased it from Bath and Body works. I loved it so much that I bought one for another friend. I was pretty shocked to find out that she spent about $20. Making your own is much cheaper (about $2-$3 per scrub) and you can choose your aroma!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Small glass (or high quality plastic) jar
white sugar
raw sugar (small brown crystals). found at grocery store
vegetable oil (I prefer avocado oil or fractionated coconut oils so it doesn’t overpower the aroma of the essential oils.)
essential oils of choice
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a small glass jar, combine equal parts of white sugar and raw sugar. Slowly add vegetable oils until it’s the right consistency. Add 15 to 20 drops of essential oils depending on the size of the container and how strong you like the aroma. I used 20 drops of Citrus Bliss in this mixture. Peppermint is a stronger aroma so you would need less. Wipe the top part of the jar so it looks pretty. That’s it! Super easy!!
